This is the part where I talk about myself

Hi, I’m Andrew, the Prodigal Farmer. I grew up on a pig farm in central Ontario. My earliest memory of gardening was watching my family do all the hard work as I took a garden rake and leveled out a 2 square foot area in the corner of the garden plot. Some might say that was me learning how to look busy on the job, but for me, it was a space I created for myself to observe how my dad set out the garden stakes and lined things up perfectly while my mom set out seeds and seedlings to plant as my sister tagged along and helped pre-water the holes in the ground that had been carefully measured out. I was able to see first-hand the love of labour my family put into gardening and learn how to apply those same principles as I created my own garden space and now help others create theirs.

As a teen, I became more involved as my family decided to make market gardening a side hustle for us kids to earn our college tuition. It worked (both the market garden and tuition income, which I used to pursue a theatre degree lol).

Eventually I bought a house and thought nothing about gardening until one day I woke up and it was all I could think of. Beware of your 30s – they’re a wonderful, crazy, nostalgic time that reveals passions you’ve had all along!
A handful of years and over 10 garden beds sporadically and artistically placed in my backyard, and here I am, ready to share my gardening passion and learned experience with you as you embark on what I believe is the most amazing adventure of our lives – caring for this wonderful planet we call home and reaping all the rewards it has to offer.
Drop me a message to inquire about my services, to run over garden ideas, or just to chat about gardening, and don’t be shy – I could happily live away my days in this space.
